How it works

Swapping on Swap-Pam, start to finish

No middleman holds your gadget and nobody pays up front. You meet, you check, you swap codes.

  1. List what you have

Add clear photos of the front, back and screen turned on. Say what is wrong with it, if anything. Phones need battery health from Settings. A moderator checks new listings before they go live, usually within a few hours.

  2. Make or receive an offer

On any listing you can offer one of your own gadgets, your gadget plus cash, or cash on its own. The owner accepts, declines, or sends a counter offer. Offers with no reply expire after 7 days.

  3. Agree the details in chat

Every deal gets its own chat. Agree where and when to meet, and how any cash will move: in person, MTN MoMo or Orange Money once you are standing together with the gadget.

  4. Meet and test

Pick somewhere busy and lit: a mall, a bank hall, a phone repair shop. Turn the gadget on, check the camera, charging port, IMEI and that iCloud or Google is signed out.

  5. Swap codes to finish

Once the deal is accepted, the team issues a six-digit confirmation code split in two. You each get three digits. When the gadgets change hands, tell the other person your half and type in theirs. Both halves entered means the swap is complete and you can leave each other a review.
